Australia will simplify its visa system

The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship has simplified the visa application process and has introduced new visa for highly qualified foreign workers. This announcement will be a leading new for many business, tourists and immigrant workers who visit Australia and complain about the lengthy, complex visa application procedures and the large number of visa subclasses which they need to navigate through.

A new streamlined medical treatment visa that provides for a stay of up to 12 months has also been launched. Along with the new visas, the government has rationalised the existing visa application process to help attract global talent. There will be no change to current visa eligibility for tourism, business visitor activities, sponsored family visits and medical treatment.

The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship promised that it will reduce the large number of visa subclasses by the end of 2015.
