Australia will Stop Processing Visa Applications from Ebola-infected Countries

The Australian government will not process visa applications from West African countries to prevent the virus from crossing its borders. The Immigration program, including the humanitarian program will be temporary suspended for Ebola-infected countries. This means no applications will be processed from these countries. All permanent visa holders who haven’t arrived in Australia yet have been required to submit to a 21-day quarantine period prior to departure to Australia. All non-permanent or temporary visa applications would be cancelled.

Only people who have already been granted humanitarian visas will be able to travel to Australia but would need to do three health checks before departure and also do screening on arrival.

Australia has committed $18 million in funds to fight the disease.
