February 18th and 19th will be life-changing dates for hundreds of Scots looking to immigrate to Australia.

Apparently Australia is in constant need of skilled migrants as new construction projects are in line, and workers shortage in mining is growing. Western Australia alone has about 500,000 openings for skilled workers, for instance.

According to recent government statistics, over 17,000 people from Scotland immigrated to Australia. In 2009, however, over 470,000 people from the UK moved to the country, making it the top immigration destination among the people from UK. Britons choose Australia to start a new life mainly because of the low unemployment …

There is an alert of a web site offering airline tickets with up to 50% lower than the regular market price.

The site cheaper-flights.com.au advertises cheap plane tickets via social media, and was spotted by the Western Australia Consumer Protection.

Investigations are already taking place, according to Anne Driscoll, consumer protection commissioner, but consumers should still be careful and not give out any bank or credit card details on this Web site.

“We have discovered that this site is operating out of Eastern Europe and that emails which they send to customers emanate from the United States,” she said.

Migration scams are becoming more widespread as prospective migrants and visa applicants to Australia are easily mislead by fraudulent Australian government sites.

Migration scammers claim they guarantee you a visa, and urge you to apply by saying it’s your ‘only chance’ to travel or migrate to Australia. You are also asked to register online and provide credit card details, after which you are charged without receiving any immigration assistance before or afterwards.

“It is vital that people are aware of fraudsters’ tricks before handing over money for immigration assistance which is never provided,” the Australian Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Chris Bowen MP, said.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday that Germany has failed to create a multicultural society where aliens are well-integrated.

According to her, people from so many different nationalities cannot live side by side without adapting to the German society. Her Christian Democrats (CDU) party has been demanding from her to take stricter actions against those who don’t show willingness to integrate. In response, she agreed rules have been too lenient towards foreigners before, and that the main thing they should do once in the country, is learn German. This way, they could attend school and have greater chances to find jobs. Germany does need skilled …
